For music teachers, there are all sorts of different songs to teach kids of all ages, activities to engage your students, and different ideas of what works and what doesn't. By using lessons that have already been proven effective, it reduces much of the strain placed on a teacher, and allows educators to learn from their peers.
What makes this site better than most others I believe is that it is not just a chatroom, or a place for teachers to ask questions, but has valuable information that any teacher can profit from having. Plus, it's free and requires no registration! I would highly recommend this website to both struggling and prospering teachers. For anyone who puts themselves out their to gain more knowledge will come back discovering something they never knew.

This seems like a very valuable resource for any teacher, but a great resource for us music teachers (as well as aspiring ones). I actually checked out the site and you are totally right. It seems to have amazing resources that can make our lives easier. Also, for it to be free is fantastic. With all the budget cuts in the school systems, anything that is free, helps out a lot. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI just checked out this sight online. This seems like a great tool, especially for new teachers who might just want a little more guidance. I really like the fact that it can be used by a multitude of teachers and not just those that teach one specific subject area. I also feel comforted in knowing that if you have a question, you can easily ask through the chatroom that you mentioned and get an answer. Thanks for sharing this sight!
ReplyDeleteThe website seems decently well put together. It is good that it gives all kinds of teachers (not necessarily just music teachers) a network for communication and advancement which is always good. There are also only a few job postings on this website but the other services make up for it. I especially liked the chatrooms. It may not necessarily be up to par with other forums on the internet dealing with a similar function but it is still a great reasource
ReplyDeleteI agree with Audrey completely. This seems like a great tool for younger teachers who are just looking for an sense of security. Being able to connect with other teachers for free, AND getting resources, AND it being free? It is any new teacher's dream.
ReplyDeleteBesides the fact that it is free, no required registration is also a big plus. Students don't have to deal with the hassle of entering tons of information, which often leads to confusion. You simply go on the site and learn the material right away, kind of like youtube. I'm surprised I have never heard of this site before. It seems like it should be more popular than it is.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you found a winner for your peers, Rebecca - great choice.
